So sorry ladies and gents. Life has been tenaciously preventing me from finding the time or the pictures to post. Isn't it funny how that happens sometimes? And I was informed by my fellow SAS bloggers that it would be a TRAVESTY if we blogged out of order, so the holdup is all my fault. Hope you haven't shut us out of your life forever yet.
{Please ignore how sicky I look in this picture and focus on the important-looking building behind me. Hooray for the central hub of all our nation's lawmaking!}
{Surprise! I went to the jungle this weekend! Just kidding, I wish}
SURPRISE! I live in DC! SURPRISE! I made friends while I was here! SURPRISE! Our idea of fun on our one day off that isn't taken up by church is going to look at pretty flowers. And you know what, it was fun! So with this outfit I tried that whole "branching out thing" that I promised you guys I would try in my last post. It was rough but I took the leap. I decided to try that new trend of "denim-on-denim". GASP! I know! How dare I? Let me tell you something, I too was once a non-believer like you. "Denim shirts are tacky!" I said. "What's next mobile homes and the mullet coming back into style?" Then, one day, I wandered into H&M. BAM! I saw this little baby across the store. It smiled at me. Love at first sight. This denim shirt and I were made for each other. I talked myself (and my mother) into the fact that it was totally meant to be. And I brought it home and we lived happily ever after. And it came out to play with some of my favorite dark-wash skinnies for the Botanical Gardens. And let me tell you something, my jeans and my denim shirt are now friends. They may even get together more often.
I cannot WAIT to pair my denim shirt with some white jeans or shorts, or a pencil skirt. You too can pull off the denim shirt, I promise. Also, you too can come visit me in DC. I'm basically a local now. We'll party like it's 2012! I can even take you to such exciting places as pictured above (oh yes people, that IS the Capital Building. Fun fact: it is Washington DC law that the Capitol Building be the tallest building in DC. You can see it from all over). So basically, what I'm trying to say is - I love denim shirts, I love my $10 Nordstrom sunglasses, I love DC and I love pretty things. Let's be friends.
xoxoxox,
Stephanie
SAS Fun Fact: Stephanie and Susanna once staged their own kidnapping from the apartment. Ansley just cleaned up the mess and chatted with her mom on the phone, not even worried when they didn't answer their cell phones for an hour. Thanks Ans.
